How to Use a Gevalia Coffee Maker

The Gevalia Coffee was started in 1853 by Victor Engwall. Engwall searched the world for the best coffee varieties and made various experiments to find the best cup of coffee.

King Gustav of Sweden had a cup of Engwall's coffee and made him the coffee purveyor to the Royal Court. Since then the company has been passed to generations and continued to development their search for the best Gevalia coffee ever.

Gevalia was first introduced in the United States in 1983 and has now become very popular worldwide. Gevalia coffee has forty assortments.

In Gevalia Company they rate coffees according to their intensity, acidity, and body. Intensity is measured by the strength of the coffee. The acidity depends on the tart, and crisp of the coffee and it varies depends on how dark the coffee roasts are. The body is measured by the way it feels in the mouth when drank.

Gevalia is also expert in making coffee machines; they have a lot of models available on the market including the twelve cup programmable coffee maker. In this article we will discuss how to properly use this model properly.

Step 1- Measure water and coffee according to the number of cups

Look at the water reservoir; fill it with water according to the number of cups. When placing filter paper in the basket, be sure to use the cone shaped paper made of brown paper as these are quality papers.

Measure one tbsp of coffee per cup, it is best to use freshly grounded beans.

Step 2 - Set it up

Set the machine, the night before if you usually are in a hurry in the morning to save time. Do not forget to place in the filter and then beans. Turn it on and set the time specifically when you need them ready. Setting it up is like setting up a microwave so it is really easy.

Step 3 - If you are in a hurry you may set the sneak-a-cup feature

There are times when you just can't wait and need to leave all you need to do is to use this feature and pour yourself a cup of coffee. The safety valve closes automatically once you pulled pot. When you place the pot back into the plate, it will continue to brew. The machine automatically shuts off after a couple of hours.

Step 4 - Maintain it cleanliness

Once every month cleaning is the best way to keep your coffeemaker for properly functioning, throw away the filter each time you use it. To clean it use one part of white vinegar and two parts of water. Pour it over the coffee and water container and then let it run. When done turn it off and then set it aside for fifteen minutes. Wash it with soap and water.

Fill the coffee carafe with cold water and then let it run completely twice changing the water once to make sure that the machine is thoroughly cleaned.
